Kawaihae
Introduction
The Kawaihae Local Resource Council needs your help in obtaining Government action to correct some serious safety hazards in the Kawaihae Small Boat Harbor. The following photographs illustrate some of these hazards.
To learn how you can help, please e-mail Sherman Warner or phone him at 885-1725.
Dock Hazards
Below are photos of the dock in the Kawaihae Small Boat Harbor. Many planks are missing in the areas used by children and adults for fishing.
The Kawaihae Local Resources Council has decided to focus on solving this problem first. To participate in a petition effort, please click on the following link:

Boat Wash Area Hazards
Below are photos of the boat wash area, which overflows into "Lake Ebola" - the non-functional sump surrounded by a chain link fence. After a heavy rain, the road is often flooded from the Akoni Pule intersection to the boat wash area. The runoff flows through "Lake Ebola," across the parking lot, through the three 4-inch pipes under the newly built handicapped walkway (or over it), and into the harbor.
